Fees for residence permits for third-country nationals
According to the provisions of the Fee Act (Gebührengesetz) the following fees are payable for the issue of residence permits. The authority may only issue the residence permit once all fees have been paid.
Residence permits (with a limited validity):
- € 160 for persons above the age of 6
- € 145 for children below the age of 6
„long term resident – EU“:
- € 210 for persons above the age of 6
- € 195 for children below the age of 6

Additional fees may be charged if foreign civil status documents (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate) or supporting documents are submitted.
For the residence permit of a child born in Austria no fees have to be paid until the child's 2nd birthday.
