Fees for EEA nationals, Swiss nationals and their third-country family members
According to the provisions of the Fees Act (Gebührengesetz ), the following flat fees are payable for the issuance of documentation if the application was submitted after January 1, 2026.
- Registration certificate and certificate of permanent residence: € 44
- Residence card and permanent residence card: € 91 or € 39 for children under 16
These fees are payable when the application is submitted. If the documentation is not issued, the applicant can reclaim the amount from the tax office. For the first issuing of a documentation of a child born in Austria no fees have to be paid until the child's 2nd birthday.
According to the provisions of the Fee Act (Gebührengesetz ) the following fees are payable for the issue of a documentation, if the application was submitted before January 1st 2026. The authority may only issue the documentation once all fees have been paid.
- Registration certificate (Anmeldebescheinigung) and long term resident certificate (Bescheinigung des Daueraufenthaltes): € 22
- Residence card (Aufenthaltskarte) and permanent residence card (Daueraufenthaltskarte): € 91 respectively € 39 for minors under 16 years
Additional fees may apply at registration certificate or long term resident certificate if certain documents are submitted.
For the first issuing of a documentation of a child born in Austria no fees have to be paid until the child's 2nd birthday.
