Austria improves from 25th to 21st rank in Corruption Perceptions Index

The NGO Transparency International ranks Austria in the 21st place in the new Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published on 10 February 2026, of a total of 182 participating countries. Last year, Austria finished 25th.

Moldovan and Norwegian delegations visit BAK

On 27 January 2026, a delegation from the Republic of Moldova and a delegation from Norway visited the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) as part of a study visit. The visit focused on the exchange of best of integrity measures, and in particular the Austrian Network of Integrity Officers (Integritätsbeauftragtennetzwerk or IBN).

15 December 2025 marks the start of the five-day 11th Conference of the States Parties (CoSP) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in Doha, Qatar. The event is the largest global anti-corruption conference, with participants from 191 country delegations.

BAK delegation at OECD WP-PIAC working meeting in Paris

On 13 and 14 November 2025, the meeting of the OECD Working Party of Senior Public Integrity Officials (WP-PIAC) took place in Paris. More than 120 delegates from OECD member states and partner countries attended the conference, including a delegation from the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK).

From 1 to 5 September 2025, the resumed 16th session of the Implementation Review Group (IRG) of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) took place at Vienna International Centre (VIC). At the same time, the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Asset Recovery met to discuss global progress in securing and recovering assets obtained through corruption.
