AB  - The following article deals with the provisions of the Austrian Execution of Sentences Act that regulate the treatment of mothers serving a prison sentence and their children, and in particular the placement of children under the care of their mothers in prison. It will show the various possible case scenarios, discuss the respective legal framework and present any problem areas. After an overview of points of criticism of the current legal situation, consideration is given to the areas where changes could be useful.
